He tells you more: "These Spaniards, priest or soldier, treat us as slaves. They make us act according to their will. If anyone disobeys, they maim and kill." He points out a warrior missing a hand.
He goes on to say, "But now the people of the many pueblos have gained a great leader, Popé. You must speak to Popé. I will act as your interpreter."
