Scouting the Settlers

Spanish settlersThe Spanish Settlement at Saint Augustine

The white skins startles you—faces like chalk, and bodies short in stature compared to your people. You wonder whether they eat wholesome food. They do not speak to you in your language or theirs, nor offer hospitality. Spaniards show suspicious regard of the newcomer.

They mutter amongst themselves, regarding you suspiciously. You wonder at their lack of manners. They approach as though to drive you away. You leave the settlement.

You find a local native to ask about these Spanish.
